An absolute must-have to keep drafts off you. Wrap it around your head and your neck – this will also help to combat jet leg. Who cares if you look silly? You’ll feel warm, comfy, and happy!
Planes are excellent for no humidity in the air resulting in dry skin, nose, and lips. Mucous membranes in our nose need moisture. Without it, we become dry, stuffy, and a magnet for attracting bacteria which can lead to an array of illnesses or discomfort. For your nose - use a few drops of nasya oil, ghee or sesame oil. For hands and lips apply sesame oil, liberally.
Try to stay away from dry snacks served on planes. Instead, bring your own snack pack of dates, nuts, sweet + sour fruit, almond butter, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, and oatmeal (just add hot water on the plane.)
Before I board the plane, I’ll stop off at a bar and ask for cut up lemons or limes in a to-go container or cup with a lid. When on the plane ask for hot water and voila! a soothing drink that doesn’t dehydrate you. Some airlines may have sliced lemons on the plane so if you forget when in the airport, just ask the flight attendant during drink service. Try to avoid the dehydrating beverages that include caffeine and alcohol while in flight. Drinking these will contribute to the lack of moisture in our bodies resulting in inflammation, swollen ankles, cracking joints, and constipation.
Fabulous to hydrate, refresh, and awaken skin in an instant.
You’ll want to psych your body into sleep mode for the overnight flights. Toothbrush, toothpaste, medications, PJ’s, make up remover, glasses, and moisturizer/oils. The more rest you can get on the flight; the less severe jetlag will be.
